Well 2020 I am not sure there are too many people out there that are going to miss you…
As I have said in previous posts like this I love the start of a year. It kind of signifies a fresh start and is a chance to make new goals or start something new. Though maybe part of the reason for the feeling of a fresh start for me is because the past couple years the beginning of January also means the start of training for a race after a few months off. Whatever the reason is I’ll take it…
So 2020…
Thinking back on this past year there isn’t one big memory that pops out. It was a year full of mountain biking, and running. It was the year I got two months off work to sit at home and got paid for it (not gonna lie, I definitely enjoyed that). It was a year full of making art…
2020 was supposed to be the year I ran my first marathon. That obviously did not happen and instead it was the year I ran my first virtual race. For those who don’t know a virtual race is one you run on your own and then upload your stats to the app or whatever the race is using. I wouldn’t say it was the easiest 21 kilometers I have ever ran but I am glad I did it. The virtual race gave me the motivation to keep running even if I didn’t get to run a big race at the end of it.
Probably one of the coolest things was having my art in the Far & Wide pop-up. It was pretty neat to walk in to a popular little shop and see something you created. Who knows if I will have the opportunity to do something like that again but I definitely hope to get in to some craft fairs this next year.
2020 was the year I sold my first piece of art on Etsy!!! It is always exciting to get that notification so thank you to everyone who has supported my art over this past year!
I thought I would share a few of my favourites from the year…
Favourite Hike: My favourite hike of the year was definitely the Eva Lake hike in Mount Revelstoke. I highly recommend it to everyone because it is so worth the climb, the lake is gorgeous.
Favourite Song: JoJo -The Change
Favourite Album: Taylor Swift – Evermore
Favourite Podcast: The Health Code
Favourite Youtube Channel: Sarah’s Day
Favourite Instagram: The Sassy Barn
Favorite Food: Tropeaka Cookie Dough protein powder…okay not exactly a “food” per say but delicious.
Favourite Art Supply: Pinata alcohol inks
So 2021…
2021 will be the year I FINALLY finish the social media and digital marketing course I have slowly been doing. I have one last class to take and I am pretty excited to have that done. This class is all about digital branding so it should be pretty interesting!
2021 will HOPEFULLY, finally be the year I’ll be able to do a marathon! As I said earlier I was supposed to do it last year and that got kiboshed so now I am just crossing my fingers the one I am looking at is going to go ahead and until I know more about that I will be training for my 30km race that will be happening in June…hopefully.
So other then those couple things I hope to do some craft fairs with my art, I have some weddings to photograph, I would love to do an overnight hike, I definitely wouldn’t say no to a little road trip to the island but we will just have to wait and see where the year takes us…
Happy New Year!!
