It is that time of year again. All the artists are looking for their ‘inktober’ prompt lists and getting ready to create art for the entire month of October.
If you have never heard of Inktober before it is an art challenge where you use prompts to create every day for the entire month of October. As far as I know the original idea came from using ink as the only medium for the prompts, hence the name, but I want to make an art challenge that hopefully anyone can do, no matter what medium they use. For that reason I like to call it ‘Creatober’. Just a month of creating in any way that suits you whether that is drawing, photography, writing or whatever your chosen medium is. Last year I had someone use my prompts for stamp art which was really neat. I love to see what everyone comes up with.
As always with these prompts you can take them however you want. Take each word literally or figuratively. Use the prompts as the whole piece or the just a small part of a whole image (for example if the prompt is trees you could draw just a tree or you could draw an entire landscape). Use your imagination and have fun with it!
I know it isn’t always easy to finish all the prompts and some mediums may just take longer so this year I made a few different lists. I made the usual full month list for those who want to go all in. I also made a 15 day list for those who want to have a little more time. Lastly I made a 4 week list for those who want join in but don’t have a lot of time on their hands. Or you could even make your own list from my prompts.
If you follow along with these prompts don’t forget to tag me on instagram or email me (themondaycreative@gmail.com) so I can see what you come up with!
