Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall - The Monday Creative

Well it is that time of year again where I listen to Keith Urban’s “Till Summer Comes Around” and shed a few tears…

I am (mostly) joking though I am most definitely sad summer is gone. Before we get all in to the pumpkins and sweaters though I thought I would share some of my summer adventures.

For the most part this summer just consisted of a lot of biking, running, hiking with the odd kayak or stand up paddle thrown in. All in all it was not a bad way to spend the sunny months.

Here are a few of more “notable” summer adventures…

Wells Gray Provincial Park

Wells Gray was a super last minute trip, my parents called while there were in the car driving and so I hopped in the vehicle on their way by. You could spend a little or a lot of time in the park because it is so huge and there are trails and waterfalls all over. On this trip we went to Helmcken Falls and Dawson falls.

Battle Bluff “date”

You may remember Melody and I’s Paul Lake “date” from last summer, well we decided we needed a repeat this year. Everyone should take their friends on a date once in a while, it’s pretty fun! We didn’t go quite as all out this year but we still carried a bottle of sparkling apple juice to the top of Battle Bluff, which is one of my favourite hikes in town, and had some delicious chocolate covered sour keys!

Eva Lake

The hike to Eva Lake is something we had been talking about doing all summer. It started out with thinking we would do an overnight hike and also checking out Jade Lake while we were up there but summer kind of slipped away and instead we just made a day trip of it.

Eva Lake is in Mt. Revelstoke and is definitely worth the hike. It took us 5 hours in total and we made the little jaunt over to Miller Lake while we were up there. We managed to see one porcupine, A LOT of screaming marmots and got a wee bit too close for my liking to a grizzly bear. It is a hike that I think anyone could do because it is a pretty easy going trail. We finished off day with a stop for ice cream at Dutchman Dairy on the way home.

And I thought I would finish it off with a bunch of random phone photos because sometimes the phone camera is the only one around…

Summer will always be my favourite time of year, I love the sunshine and being able to be outside. What is your favourite time of year?
