Goodbye 2022

high rim trail

Just like that 2022 has come to an end and what a year it has been.

From a two day hike on the High Rim trail (10/10 would recommend), my first Ragnar experience (that was pretty crazy), new job, and new car, I think 2022 went pretty okay.

I haven’t had much of a chance to blog this past year so I thought I would do a little highlight reel with some of the photos from the year.

These pictures are from a two day hike on the High Rim Trail. With the late start to spring it kind of limited our options for an overnight hike this year. We needed to do something that was low enough elevation that we would be able to set up our tent NOT in a pile of snow. We ended up going with the small section of the High Rim Trail and it was perfect! It was a pretty easy hike, nothing too steep and our tenting spot had a spectacular view.

Next up is the Ragnar Relay. If you have never heard of a Ragnar race before it is a 200 mile relay race. You have a team of 12, 6 in one van and 6 in another van, and you each run 3 legs of the 200 miles. You run all day and all night, as well as most of the next day. It took us about 33 hours and you definitely don’t get much sleep. I think I slept for a total of 30 minutes in those 33 hours. It is a pretty cool experience, just be prepared to be running on fumes for your last leg…that one hurt!

September Long camping. Definitely needed to add a couple shots of camping because that is always a highlight of the summer!

Plus a photo with my beautiful new car, that was very exciting moment from the year! Last but not least, a photo from the Whistler half-marathon. It is always a fun to run the Whistler Half and this year was even more exciting because it meant the start of in-person races again for me.

As always I love the start to the new year. It is a good excuse to set some new goals. So far my goals for 2023 consist of finishing my marathon that is coming up in May and getting back to taking more pictures because I realized most of the pictures I have from this past year were actually taken by someone else.
